Shreya Ghoshal started her success run in 2002 with the blockbuster, Devdas. More than the movie, its songs literally made a killing. It heralded the arrival of a star crooner. It announced the arrival of Shreya Ghoshal - the Diva!! Shreya from thereon has not only never looked back but has slogged to get quality results in her songs.
Her songs over the past few years are a testimony to her class. Style, expressions and power mark the hallmark of her songs. She is super versatile and her voice has terrific feel. I can vouch for a fact that no one gives expressions better than Shreya. When Shreya sings you can actually feel the character of the movie singing. A pristine example is the sensous Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai... from Jism. You can actually feel Bipasha moaning while Shreya sing! This quality, I feel, is missing when you listen to some other singers like for instance, Sunidhi. In Sunidhi's case you will find that her voice totally overshadows the characters.
