Shreya Ghoshal wins at the 17th Star Screen Awards Ceremony

The star screen awards are the most anticipated of all the Indian film awards. The alluring screen awards came into existence in the year 1994. Since then Mr. Viveck Goenka of the Indian Express Group initiates all the screen award ceremonies. The screen awards are the only Indian award ceremony which has involved the Executive Director and the Governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The awards are presented to the winners on the basis of their outstanding performance in the Bollywood. The nomination and selection is done by a panel of eminent personalities from the film industry itself. Thus these awards are rightly considered as one of the prestigious and toughest award to win in Bollywood.

The 17th Star Screen Awards were given away on the 17th December in Mumbai.

Shreya Ghoshal won the award for the best playback singer(female) for her magical rendition of the song'Bahara'from I Hate Love Stories. Congratulations to the Diva!

Her win this time  holds a special importance as Shreya was pitted against a very popular song,'sheila ki jawani'. Here's hoping that the critics and the public follow the same principles and criteria of selection for the remaining of the awards too - Filmfare, Zee Cine and IIFA.
