Shreya Ghoshal storms the evening at Doha

24th April, Doha (Qatar) - Indian music diva Shreya Ghoshal weaved a musical spell on the packed audience at a concert organised by the Bangiya Parishad in the Gulf Cinema here on Friday.
Music-lovers who had turned up in full strength to savour the melodious feast got more than what they had asked for even as the renowned playback singer belted out hits after hits with her soulful young voice. Attired in a glamorous gown, Shreya, as usual, struck an instant rapport with the audience with her opening number Silsila Ye Chahat Ka from the super-hit film Devdas, which incidentally was also her debut movie. Giving a brief about this song which helped her carve out a niche in playback singing and earned her the Filmfare and Filmfare RD Burman awards, she said, “I have a special attachment with this number as this was the first song of my career and it changed my life entirely. I always start my concert with this song.”
She followed it up with many of her popular songs like Barso Re Megha from the movie Guru, Tu Hi To Meri Dost Hai from Yuvraaj, Ye Ishq Haye from Jab We Met, Jadu Hai Nasha Hai from Jism, Piyu Bole from Parineeta, Pal Pal from Lage Raho Munnabhai, Mere Dholna from Bhulbhulaiya, and many more.
No wonder, Shreya's alluring voice, the unadulterated melody and the thumping beats took the audience by storm as they broke into frequent jigs during the grand musical show.
