Shreya is a multi-genre singer with a super texured voice

Shreya Ghoshal. Well, the name itself gives you a feel of soft gentle coolness, aura of a
pristine beauty and almost sends shiver down your spine. Such is the angelic impact of the
Goddess of songs and beauty Shreya.

I've been observing that many of the critics as well the fans of Shreya keep saying that
Shreya has got a soft and silky voice which are apt for romantic numbers. It’s even said
that most of her fans like her singing the soft numbers. But that's absolutely wrong.
If "Barso re" won her awards then we also had "Yeh Ishk Hai", which was a mega hit. If
"Soona Soona" was soulful then "Mujhe Tumse Mohabbat" was big hit with the clubs. If "Chalo
Tumko Lekar" from Jism was touching then we also had "Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai" which has
literally become a national anthem of sensous singing. So for every "A" there is "# 1" also.

By saying that her voice suit for a particular genre is in effect insulting her versatility, her range and her talent. Guys, Shreya's voice has got a super texture which can throw a whole gamut of feelings - sadness, love, romance, joy, exuberance, masti, erotism, euphoria, nostalgia, youth and divinity. She can swim across genres of music - romance, rock, blues, disco, mujra, qawali or a holy bhajan. She is absolutely impeccable when it’s comes to diction, clarity and pronunciation.
Whether at lower notes or higher notes, her control and clarity of throw is superb.
So, Shreya, please don’t confine yourself to singing what some feel. You should continue singing songs all hues, moods and genres!
